HOUSTON - Mayor Sylvester
Turner announced today that the Texas Division of Emergency Management and Houston Health Department are bringing free COVID-19 testing to the Sunnyside community.
The free Mobile Test Collection Site opens April 29 at Worthing High School
(9215 Scott Street, 77051) and will operate through May 3. The site is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or until reaching its daily capacity of 150 tests.
The Sunnyside site requires appointments by visiting TXCOVIDTEST.ORG or calling 512-883-2400.
Nurses/Health care workers will screen people for fever and/or chills, cough, fatigue, body ached/muscle or joint pain, shortness
of breath, sore throat, headaches, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, nasal congestion, and loss of taste and/or smell.
This Sunnyside site is the latest expansion of COVID-19 testing resources into vulnerable communities.
On Monday, Mayor Turner
announced free mobile COVID-19 testing at strategic multi-service centers and a new free United Memorial Medical Center testing site in Southeast Houston.
