COVID-19 situation in Europe:
online press briefing on epidemiological status and disease data

Dear journalists, please join us for a virtual press briefing with:

·         Dr Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe

·         Dr Bruce Aylward, Senior Advisor to the WHO Director-General

The briefing will provide a situation update on COVID-19 in the WHO European Region, covering the epidemiological status and disease data, as well as examining the pandemic’s impact in the countries with the highest number of cases in the WHO European Region. It will also outline emerging trends and present WHO’s activities in the Region.

Following the situation update by Dr Kluge, Dr Aylward will report on the recent WHO support mission to Spain, the current situation in the country, response activities and lessons learned.

In recognition of World Health Day, 7 April, we will also be acknowledging and applauding the role of the health workforce and all those on the frontline of the pandemic.
