Society of Petroleum Engineers member ,Eng Felix Obike speaks on the issues during 2022 conference

The Society of Petroleum Engineers or SPE is holding the 2022 annual Technical Conference and Exhibition at the George Brown Convention center City Of Houston Texas USA .
The non profit with 124,800 members in 134 countries divided into all the continents is engaged in Oil and gas exploration and production . The organization and it,s leadership and members provides technical knowledge , in publications , online , training courses , events and conferences including the ATCE .
Engineer Felix Obike is the chair of the Nigerian council of the organization and a Well Services Manager with Seplat Energy company who is attending the conference in Houston .
Engineer Obike spoke with Dr Ntuba Akwo Thompson of Healthndevelopment magazine and Media on some of the issues facing his industry and what his company was doing to mitigate the effects of Climate change on Humans and the Environment .
Engineer Felix Obike says they are planting millions of trees as company , an endeavor which many belief will help the uptake of excess CO2 from the atmosphere as food fertilizer for plants and trees .
One of the mangers of Aramco spoke on the subject of sustainability and energy transition and how the Oil and gas sector engineers of SPE are front and center in the research and development of clean energy from fossil fuels which is believed to continue to be here for a very long time as part of the energy mix and transition .
The SPE engineers are also working very hard to meet one of the UN Sustainable development goals of Clean Energy .
On Wednesday the 10/05/2022, participants involved in the Health, Safety , Environment and Sustainability areas of SPE work will address Methane abatement Technology and Operationalizing Emissions Management .
Marcin Nazaruk is the winner of the Health, Safety and Environment Award to be presented among others at the the 2022 annual reception and award Banquet sponsored by Aramco .
