WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION NEWS : DIRECTOR GENERAL TEDROS THANKS MEDICAL COMMUNICATORS.

The director-general of the World Health Organization or WHO has thanked colleagues and medical global medical communicators for working with the UN specialized health agency for the second year of work on covid19.
Dr. Tedros of WHO gave a summary of what has been done in the past year in the preparedness and response to covid19, the gaps, and shortcomings especially by member states.
Many countries met the goal of vaccinating 40 % of their national populations by the end of 2021 while others did not especially low and middle-income countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Dr Tadros warned against indiscriminate use of covid19 vaccines in certain countries as boosters, noting that, shortage of covid vaccines among front line health care workers and elderly vulnerable and others will not serve the world.
Dr. Tedros thanked all those who have been working with the Geneva team for the past year while asking the World to be committed to the resolution of vaccinating 70% of the populations of all nations by July 2022, a resolution and goal which he believes can be realized if all member states are committed.
The director general wished the World well and a Prosperous new year in 2022.
