The director-general of the World health organization, Dr. Tedros has addressed the second phase of the 2020 World health assembly on the 9th of November 2020.
He reminded the ministers of member states that 2020 is the international year of the nurse and midwife and the awareness of the incredible contribution that nurses and midwives make, from the first moments of life.
Dr. Tedros gave the data on the incidence of Covid 19 around the world and what WHO member states were doing to control the pandemic globally.
Dr. Tedros continues to ask member states and partners to work together for vaccines and therapeutics for Covid 19 and other global health challenges.
Dr. Tedros emphasizes the need for universal health coverage, under primary health care and health systems strengthening globally.
