United Nations Development News: Member states address the 75th general assembly .

The United Nations general assembly or UNGA75 is taking place at the headquarters in New York in a hybrid format with some mission diplomats inside the assembly hall, introducing prerecorded messages from presidents or heads of states of their countries.
The 75th assembly is holding under the theme "The Future we want, the United Nations we need: reaffirming our collective commitment to Multilateralism ".
Nations that have spoken already include France, Venezuela, Ukraine, South Africa, Afghanistan, Nauru, Kenya, Peru, Poland, and others.
The speakers underscored the importance of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary.
The charter and principles of the united nations were mentioned, tied to the major goals of peace and security, human rights, and development.
The UN is said to have made the world a better place and more is expected to be done in the face of more global challenges like COVID 19 they say.
The member states are called upon to promote and be more committed to Multilateralism, the only way to solve global problems like COVID19, Climate change, global conflicts, wars, economic changes, migration and refugee crisis, debt burden, and related global development challenges.
The sustainable development goals are just 10 years away for realization, a goal which. absence of global solidarity and multilateralism cannot be realized.
The leaders continue to call for reforms in all three arms of the united nations, especially at the security council where the need for a permanent representative for Africa is advocated.
