Astros and Cheniere COH Hurricane Laura relief collections.

Mayor Sylvester Turner joined the leaders of Astros Houston and Cheniere energy company at the Minute Maid park today Saturday 9-12-2020 at 9.00 am to appreciate and thank donors for giving for relief to victims of recent Hurricane Laura in Louisiana and Texas.
Mayor Turner appreciated the public-private partnership that makes these efforts possible.
The leader of Cheniere team on the grounds spoke about the efforts his company is making related to clean energy as a way to combat climate change responsible for some of these adverse weather conditions like hurricanes, with a long term goal of sustainable solutions.
He thanked Dr Ntuba Thompson Akwo for raising the issues.
Mayor Sylvester Turner, also spoke to the efforts the city of Houston is making through it,s resilience program and other green initiatives in response to a question from Dr Ntuba Akwo.
The first truck load of all new products donated will leave Houston by 11.00 am heading to Lake Charles Louisiana .
Houston is giving back ,especially considering the contributions to the city after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.
