Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston thanked the recently formed group called "Asian Americans salute frontline heroes " for feeding Houston first responders, hospital workers, and other essential employees during the COVID19 pandemic on the 5/22/2020.
The mayor was joined by congressman Algreen, Council members Cisneros and Pollard, and the group leader to deliver close to 250 hot meals to essential workers at the city of Houston city hall Rotunda.
The essential workers who came with their masks on, "did grab and go " their lunches while maintaining physical distancing.
Mayor Sylvester Turner used the group to speak to the power of diversity and inclusivity that makes the city of Houston very resilient.
Honorable Agreen alluded to the recent financial package passed at the USA Congress by him and his colleagues, saying the was $100 billion in there to address the needs of Affected businesses like those the Asian communities represented.
The head of the Asian American group thanked the leadership of the city of Houston for the opportunity as he briefly stated the God relationship between them and the city.
