HPD to Christen Patrol Boat in Honor of Fallen Officer
At 10:30 a.m. TOMORROW (Friday, October 18), Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo will join members of the HPD Air & Marine Division in christening a patrol boat in honor of fallen Officer Dawn S. Erickson. Members of Officer Erickson's family will also be present.

The ceremony will be held at the HPD Lake Patrol offices at 113 Old Atascocita Road in Huffman.

Officer Erickson, 22, was sworn in as an HPD officer in March, 1995 and assigned to the South Central Patrol Division. Tragically, she was killed while directing traffic at a Christmas Eve church service that same year. A department photo of Officer Erickson is attached to this media alert.
