Houston announced as host of the 2020 national urban league conference .

The national president of the Urban league , and former mayor of New Orleans , Marc Morial was in Houston among city leadership and congress members , Shila Jackson Lee and Al Green to announce the choice of Houston as the host of the 2020 national urban league conference slated for August 2020 .
Mayor Sylvester Turner welcomed Mr Morial to Houston , underscoring his leadership successes as former mayor of the city of Houston and national president of the national urban league ."The city of Houston is a proud partner of and supporter of the Houston area urban league and is eager welcome the National urban league conference "mayor Turner said .
Honorable Jackson Lee and Al Green spoke after the mayor , both appreciating the important work of the national urban league .
The Houston Urban league president and c.e.o Mr Judson W , Robinson III made brief welcome remarks and acknowledgements of local partners includng CVB , George Brown convention center, visit Houston and Houston First .
The national urban league conference will attract thousands of attendees , millions in economic impact to Houston with highlights of the conference to include , dialogue on social and economic disparities and presidential nominees expected to honor invitations to address participants .
"The urban league movement,s goals in the areas of employment and entrepreneurship , education , housing and health care are all dependent upon fair and accurate representation in our governing institutions ," Morial said .
Hosted by the Houston area Urban league , the conference is slated for for August 5-8 of 2020 and explores the challenges of discrimination and lack of opportunity in every aspect of today,s social and economic landscape and brings together leading innovators and trail blazers in business and industry , government and community to chart a part to success .
