Africans dominated the Houston Chevron 25K marathon , winning goals in the male[Bazu Worku , Ethopia at 1:06:39] and female[Birukyayit Degefa, Ethopia at 2:24:51 ] categories of the race. Each winner of the two categories of the Chevron Marathon got forty five thousand dollars.
Jake Robertson of NewZealand at 1:00:1]won the male category of Aramco half marathon while Ruti Aga of Ethopia at 1:06:39]
The mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner was on the grounds , holding the banner the male category winner ran through .
The ladies category of runners followed later .
During the press conference that took place at the filing room at the Houston convention center , both winners of the Chevron marathon appreciated the American community for the encouragement given them during the race .
